THE 2010 NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION PAGAN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Friday, February 26 - Sunday, February 28, 2010 Hilton Arlington Hotel 950 North Stafford Street, Arlington, VA 22203 703-528-6000 Join us for the Sixth Annual National Capital Region Pagan Leadership Conference! Bringing Pagan leaders, activists, and businesspeople together from across the National Capital Region, the NCR-PLC is a peer-level conference for group networking, skill building, and collaboration of efforts on community-level projects. The 2010 conference meets critical needs by emphasizing financial vitality for Pagan organizations, which is especially relevant during these tough economic times. The conference breakouts are built on participant feedback, and include expanded workshops in four crucial areas of interest:
Expanding topics from last year's workshops and integrating material based on feedback from conference participants, this year's instructors and facilitators are preparing innovative sessions to help equip you and your board members to gauge and to guide your organization through the next ten years. An updated format featuring all plenary sessions ensures that you and all members of your group, organization, or business can benefit from the training provided. This year's conference opening provides a provocative speaker with an excellent topic: Christine Woodman, a doctoral student of sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University, will present a framework for studying the financial makeup and health of religious and spiritually oriented organizations and businesses. Christine Woodman
It is our goal to provide a thought-provoking conference in which Pagan leaders envision, assess and strategize to create a mature Pagan community. Given the financial focus of this conference, we are, for the first time ever, extending a special invitation to Pagan vendors, shop owners, authors, performers, teachers, facilitators, and presenters ... everyone who could benefit from additional training in our core topics of financial planning & discipline, fundraising, publicity & promotions, and branding. This year, the material presented will be of great value to those whose livelihood depends on their own financial stability and that of the community as a whole. The 2010 NCR-PLC is open to all Pagan leaders (or their delegates) and businesspeople actively involved in organizing public events, leading local groups, and/or providing open community resources, as well as business owners and those involved in ministry professions. If you would like to recommend someone in addition to yourself for the conference, please email sunny (at) openhearth (dot) org. Registration is $60 per person until February 12 (late registration $75) and includes ten hours of focused instruction in the core topics, opening and closing plenary sessions with the featured speaker, Q&A sessions with instructors & the speaker, hospitality receptions Friday and Saturday nights, networking program booklet, and much more. Hilton Arlington has given us very attractive meeting space rates for our expanded conference schedule and a guest room rate of $109 per night. Don't commute! Save by sharing accommodations and plan to be with us for all conference sessions, especially Friday night's plenary opening and hospitality reception. Part of the joy of attending the entire conference is the spontaneous after-hours fun that comes from staying overnight at the hotel, giving all attendees the chance to expand their networking experience and get to know other Pagan leaders in the region. All guest rooms are reserved directly from the hotel, and a special guest room rate is available for conference attendees.
